won't work for me :( for some reason when i plug my mp3/mp4 player to my computer, all my act files show up as WAV... but they are not. i transfer them to my hard drive and try to play them and they won't. so i change the extension to ACT. i try to use this program. but when i click on 'convert' i get an error message that says 'unsupport format' :(

any ides..??

thank so much.

Thank you so much, Josh, it worked very well and I succeeded in converting my ACT files from a MPman MP-CS157 (1GB) with Windows XP SP3. I did'nt encounter any difficulty to install the programm, I found it really easy to use and immediatly red the .WAW file with VLC 1.0.5.Many thanks again. Magikelly (Nice - France)

Hallo Josh,
I'd like use your program "Sound Convert Tool 2.0" with Windows XP.
The program is in h:\SoundConvertTool. The act-file is in the same or in a another directory.
I "open" a act-file, choose a "Outpit Option" and press "Convert".
The program shows me a error-window: "Can't find above file, Please copy it to %s."
What can I do?
Thank you, Irma

Thank you sooo much for posting this, I have search high and low and this is the only workable one, thanks a million.
NB: if you are using this wait for the status bar to disappear then look into the folder/directory where you load the file from to see the conversion equivalent of it.

Finally..... this one works!

I have been looking for .ACT to .WAV converter for the past few days. And this is the only converter tool that works for the .ACT file of my digital voice recorder. Thanks a lot for sharing this tool.
