…has nothing to do with me running out of stamps. Or things to say, for that matter. Actually, I’ve been posting, just not here… the idea being that when I do switch accross, there will be content there from the first, and not just some “hey, it’s a page, look at the pretty page” post. Has it been successful? Arguably.
Can you see it yet? Not quite.
A handful of people have said various things about the design… personally, I’m going with the school of thought which says this new one is better. Don’t like it? Your problem.:p You can sit here, on this iteration of the website, forever browsing the same posts, getting as sick of my writing as I am already, hence the need for constant change.
Yeah, as of right now, I’m planning to have a live archive accessible. Don’t try and pull up anything nasty from it, though, or I will can it. Previously executed content could testify to that, were it still around to do so.
On that slightly morbid note, I conclude what I hope to be the last post on this blog, if all goes according to plan and transitions are relatively turbulence free. As another aside, I shall probably be returning to normal life tomorrow, not because I’m feeling any better, but simply because apparently I’m not permitted to be as I was.

Tinkering has been happening around the place… the commenting submit page is still broken.
I don’t think it’s any different from the stock 1.2 WordPress distribution, but… yeah, uncertain. Source can be viewed here.
Well, I lie… the headers are still slightly different from stock because I thought that may be the problem. It wasn’t, but the headers were left anyway, seeing they work just as well and I couldn’t be bothered changing it back.
In other news, I’m still sick, hence time spent here…

In no particular order, five reasons why here is better than an assembly at SACS…
- I have chocolate here. In assembly, they object to the consumption of foodstuffs generally.
- I have music. Playing over moderately nice Pioneer ‘phones, instead of the crappy Bose setup in the Cathedral.(1)
- Whilst on the subject of music, especially music with headphones (which, incidentally, also aren’t permitted in assembly), I can sing/dance/beatbox along to whatever I want without attracting strange looks here. Help the poor souls I end up in the same workplace as…
- I can blog from here, and I couldn’t there. Maybe that’s why you’ll never see a “10 reasons why assembly is better than x” post here?
- My heater is warm. Cavernous sandstone places are not.
5, my desk. 0, a typical SACS assembly. Not that I’m biased or anything.

1. Note: I very much doubt the equipment in use is crappy. The setup, however, is decidedly poor. Don’t believe me? Go into that space whenever there is next a performance which uses the A/V fitout in there, and sit in the center, or in the western gallery.

A Squirrel, crazy things that they are.
I laughed… perhaps too much ;)

According to my system information page on my local machine, I’ve downloaded 1.62 GBvia my local ethernet interface in the last 11 hours and 21 minutes (not downloading flat out, that just happened to be my system uptime when I last refreshed the page).
What was I doing? No LAN traffic, that much I know. There has been one other machine on for much of today which has created noise before, but post- viral and spyware purges, this ’98 box has been squeaky clean (except for the one virus which powers it, of course).
Nah, I was downloading a couple of ISO’s from PlanetMirror, namely Mandrake 10 discs 1 and 2 — I don’t even know if I’m going to burn the images to CD, much less actually USE them on anything, but hey… that’s not what this is all about.
Some will recall a post I made previously (on the olde blog) regarding iiNet’s wonderfully bloated new quota limits for their ADSL plans… yeah… I’m still going on about that, sorry to appear pedantic… I am.
Anyway. Those two ISO images put a nice chunk in my monthly allowance, because it was starting to slip behind. You know that when the download meter starts telling you you can download 650, 700MB in a day, something has to happen… I’m just keeping up with my iiSP’s lofty expectations of their users!
“What would anyone download 12GB a month of?!” — the standing joke goes, “That’s a lot of Linux ISO’s”… it sure is.
