Forest Blue photos

A photo or three from the play Forest Blue, which is still on at the Old Fitzroy for at least two more shows (next Sunday and Monday) and possibly two more after that if it’s extended.

Character of Sissy dancing at front of performance space.

Writer Sarah Doyle standing next to character of Sissy.

Sissy moves towards stage left, where visuals are being projected onto the set.

Credit for these photos to Sarah Doyle, author of the play, using my camera.

Bright Copper Kettles, and Warm Woolen Mittens…

I Love:

  1. Hugs!
  2. Everything just working.
  3. Being surrounded by people I trust and get on with really well.
  4. Sporadic bursts of intense creativity (even if they’re really rare!)
  5. That feeling when you wake up in bed and it’s just warm and comfortable and you don’t want to move.
  6. Communication. It makes me feel popular.
  7. New toys!
  8. Making people smile.
  9. Potentially obscure but excellent films, productions, arts, everything.
  10. The smell and feel of (some people’s) hair.

I Hate:

  1. Days when everything falls apart.
  2. General creative block.
  3. Futility, regardless as to context or quantity.
  4. Seafood.
  5. Not being able to say things I’m thinking (or feeling like I can’t…)
  6. Whenever my handwriting sucks.
  7. Stuff that breaks hours out of warranty periods.
  8. Having to wish I were somewhere else, ever.
  9. Dissent.
  10. Reasoning based on fallacy when logical argument is required to justify something.

Comments are disabled for this post, because this isn’t really meant to be discussed – it’s just me. Track/pingbacks are open, and people are most welcome to do the same thing on their blogs – just pick 10 things you love, and 10 things you hate. Kind of like one of those trashy email quiz things, but shorter, more flexible, and requiring a little more thought.

A picnic.

The subject of this posting occurred today with Sam, Katy (whom I had not seen for faaaar too long!), Ben and Sam’s dog, Tuffy (he has his own email address and website!) in a park in some part of Sydney kind of near the Anzac Bridge, at which lots of photos were taken. And at which I was given a whiteboard (!!) as a late-Christmas/early-Birthday present! Wowowowowow! So we had some fun with that thing, too. In a park, no less.

In an attempt to redeem myself in the eyes of my overly neglected PhotoStack installation (it’s only because I haven’t got a scanner at the minute, I promise! I’ve got four rolls of film to scan as soon as I move into permanent accomodation again and get the HP thing back!), I’m not going to post all the images on the front page (goodness, it might even save some bandwidth!) — if you wish to peruse the whole lot, the whole album is online.

My favorites:

Never trust a man who, left alone with a tea cosy, does not try it on his head. Penned on a whiteboard, complete with lame half illustration - mine.

Sam and Ben hold their baby... err... Tuffy. Cute photo!

Sam and Tuffy poking out tounges.

Mother Katy holds Tuffy.

As always, if you can be bothered, my comments reside in the ALT text for all images in the gallery (some are more extensive than others), which can be seen (generally) by holding your mouse over the relevant thumbnail/image. This may not work in Internet Explorer, sorry folks. Get Firefox if you want a web browser that’s faster, more secure, and generally does stuff well!

If anyone feels my alternate textual explanations of the images are insufficient (e.g. require contextual knowledge of a visual nature in order to understand comments made, etc.), please feel free to let me know and I’ll do something about it. The contact form is the best way to get in touch.

I’ve been around you too long.

Context: Myself and much of the rest of the geek world flippantly refer to computers as boxes, whilst Steve has generally made a valiant attempt to stoically resist this colloquial terminology. Not anymore, it seems. Victory!!!

2005: Year of the cheap Gigabit?

Just got an email from an OEM supplier, advertising gigabit NICs for $AU13/unit. Cool. Now, if only something similar would happen for various other gigabit infrastructure (switches, anyone?)…
